What is DoggCrapp Training?

If you haven’t heard of DC, or DoggCrapp, training, chances are you don’t spend too much time online on the various bodybuilding message boards. Not only is DC a common topic, it has its own dedicated sections on many Internet forums. DC began over 10 years ago as the brainchild of Dante Trudel, who prefers to simply go by Dante. As his clients began to see extraordinary results, word spread about his innovative ideas. His transformation of pro bodybuilder Dave Henry from a 175-pound middleweight to a 205-pound heavyweight in just two years really caused the popularity of DC training to snowball and take on a life of its own.

DC is an abbreviated training system. This type of system is nothing new. Arthur Jones, Mike Mentzer, Dr. Ellington Darden and other advocates of HIT (High Intensity Training) have been claiming the superior efficiency of shorter and more intense workouts since the early 1970s. So why has DC become such a phenomenon? There are three reasons. Number one, the age of the Internet has made sharing information between bodybuilders faster than anyone ever dreamed possible in the past. Number two, DC has several unique aspects that clearly set it apart from Heavy Duty and other abbreviated training systems. Third and most importantly, people are getting bigger and stronger at remarkable rates and breaking past perceived genetic barriers with DC. Even those who had not been able to gain any appreciable muscle in years despite their best efforts (such as yours truly); have made progress using Dante’s methods. And when something works, it’s bound to catch on.
