Covering all the bases – nutrition, preparation, training, rest, etc. – Muscle RX is an all-inclusive publication. James also includes several pages at the beginning subtitled My Journey as a Bodybuilder that give the reader insight into the man’s career thus far as a muscleman. Peppered liberally throughout the book are photographs of James (a few feature him with his twin brother – Fortress is seeing double). Unfortunately, the pictures are in black-and-white, but they’re good, nonetheless. From artistic posing pics to competition shots to exercise demonstrations the book is littered (in a good way) with photographic support. Full hails to James for offering a bodybuilder’s anatomy chart as well as sections explaining training splits, sets, reps and all points in between. There are even sample programs for beginner, intermediate and advanced trainers. One quickly ascertains that Muscle RX is a great book not just for inexperienced bodybuilders, but those who’ve been hangin’ and bangin’ the weights for a while, as well. Matured muscle devotees will appreciate having such a book in their collection to which they can refer from time to time. Beyond all this, however, Muscle RX is just a cool read. The text is presented clearly and James lends the material interest with his fine writing. If you’re in the market for a good all-encompassing bodybuilding how-to book, look no further than Muscle RX, Your Prescription for the Ultimate Physique by James Kohler. It’s a worthwhile purchase for collectors, too. “James Kohler is one of the most knowledgeable drug-free bodybuilders on the scene today. His passion for lifting permeates his writing and pumps up the reader with information and motivation necessary for the best gains possible in the gym.” For more information visit www.jameskohler.com |

There is no shortage of books on the market written to help guide inexperienced bodybuilders through oceans of nonsense and toward ultimate physique success. James Kohler, overall winner of the 2007 Mr. Natural California and pro natural competitor with the NGA organization, offers no-bull advice and guidance in his Muscle RX, Your Prescription for the Ultimate Physique.
